Recent Affinia Chicago Review: "On arrival to the Affinia I was greeted by friendly front of house staff. Kirstin who checked me in was professional and friendly and made me feel so welcome. On finding out it was my first time in The States she explained where my room was looking onto and made me feel very welcome. Then I waited for the lift up to my room, excited to have finally  arrived in Chicago. I opened my room door and was so blown away by the room. It was HUGE, clean and very cool (I arrived in the middle of a heatwave so was very glad of the a/c) Massive windows with a fabulous view. The bed was very comfortable and the pillow menu a bonus.The flatscreen TV could be turned to face seating area or bed which was nice on the morning I had a lie in. There were a lot of facilities offered in the room but I didnt require them. The only small negative in the room was the bathroom was fairly small in comparison to the HUGE room, but the dressing area meant I didnt need to use the bathroom to do my make up or hair so it wasnt an issue. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job as I felt the room was just as it was the day I arrived every day. I didnt make use of the bar/room service or restaurant in the hotel so I cannot comment on them. I did want to visit the rooftop bar but the 3 occasions I wanted to it was booked out for Private functions which was disappointing but can't be helped. I also didn't make use of the fitness centre (although I had intended to!) Some of the door men were stand offish and agreeing with a comment from a review I read somewhere else, didn't seem interested unless you looked rich (Which is a shame as I tipped above average for everything but wasn't given the chance to with 2 of them as they turned their backs to me as I was leaving the hotel or returning) , but some of them were excellent. There was one in particular who made me feel very welcome anytime I returned to the hotel and was very helpful, unfortunately I didnt get his name. This is not a complaint about the"
