Recent Amalfi Review: "The Amalfi exceeded our expectations. The staff was helpful in giving us directions to attractions within the Chicago area, providing us with maps and tips for getting around. They were also super friendly and said hi to us every time we walked by, which really made us feel welcome. The funky ultra modern decor (complete with ambient eltronica music) made the lobby of the hotel feel like an upscale spa. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the complimentary cocktail hour, which was unfortunate, as that would've added to the value of our stay, but alas we were elsewhere meeting friends. The flatpanel LCD TV in the room was a little small, but we were there to sightsee, not watch television. The room also had a DVD player and mini bar, which was convenient, though we didn't use either. There was a small conference room on our floor, about 4 rooms down from ours, where there was a conference session going on. It wasn't disruptive at all, but it was a little bit strange walking down to the continental breakfast in my pajamas in the morning and passing by people in business suits. By the way, there is a continental breakfast located on every floor in the mornings, which is really convenient. We only stayed at the Amalfi for one night, but we would definitely stay there again."

Great location to everything in Chicago. Had lite finger foods everyday from 5:30-7:00. Breakfast was served on every floor from 6:00-9:30. Double shower outputs. Beds very comfortable. Located near everything downtown.

The Amalfi Hotel is an absolute must to experience when in Chicago. Just a short and quick walk to the Magnificent Mile without the price to go along with it. It's prestinely maintained and beautifully decorated. The nightly reception is not only generous but a great way to start off the evening. A better than continental breakfast is served on every floor and is frequently replenished. It's definitely my favorite place to stay while I'm in Chicago. Looking forward to my next visit! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and service focused.

Great location, friendly staff with large rooms. Only six floors, no view available but a great value for the money. A continental breakfast is offered on each floor by the elevators. Free cocktails from 5:30 to 7:00.

The best thing about the hotel was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The rate included a continental breakfast and cocktail and appetizer hour and both were disappointing considering the price we paid for the room. The breakfast is what I would expect at a Super 8, not a 4 star hotel in downtown Chicago. The pastires were dry, the breads uninteresting and the coffee below average. Indeed, the cocktails/beer/wine were included in the room price and the appetizers were plentiful and of good quality, but the "reception" was held in a windowless, unpleasant meeting room with seating for only a fraction of the guests. Many people simply stood and tried to eat their food or just took it back to their rooms. The experience was not fun or classy at all.

This hotel was perfect for our bachelorette getaway. A continental breakfast was included, and there was one on every floor! There was also a happy hour with drinks (to include their special limoncello drink) and appetizers (GREAT bruschetta) to start your night off right! The rooms were great, we had 4 in a room, and it was perfect, especially since we weren't in it much. The hotel is in a great location. Easy walking to the mag. mile and a strip of bars is only a few blocks away. A little bit longer to Navy Pier, but if you don't mind walking and it's not too hot, it's a great stroll. Close to all the river cruises as well. Overall a great hotel and I hope to stay in it again!

We were able to check in early - nice lobby staff - I asked if any upgrades were available - none were available but we were placed on a higher floor. Rooms were nice, clean, quiet. Location is great - central to everything. Nice to have the continental breakfast and cocktail reception. I would stay again.

The staff was very attentive and kind. Rooms were clean and sutible for our quick stay. The spa robes are a wondeful touch of luxury. The rates were reasonable for a downtown Chicago stay. We'll definitely stay again!

The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The hotel is convenient to The House of Blues and other must-see attractions. The free breakfast, drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the evenings are added bonus.
