Recent Ambassador East Review: "I've traveled quite a bit for business and have stayed in many hotels around the U.S. This was one of the classiest hotels I've ever stayed in - the service was outstanding and the decor elegant. I was very comfortable my entire stay. The history of the hotel is fascinating. Everything was very thought-out including a 24/7 business room with three computers and free web access, a list of restaurants in walking distance at the concierge desk, etc. The hotel is on the Gold Coast, a very posh and wealthy district in Chicago, and the architecture of surrounding buildings is amazing. It's a beautiful area of the city. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is if you are a business traveler planning to attend a convention at McCormick Place, the hotel's location is simply not convenient...you'd spend a fortune on taxi rides back and forth or have to rely on the CTA bus or subway."

| Good value for the money. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The location was great for the Air and Water Show. Have already referred this hotel to others. Parking fees were very high. We found cheaper alternative.
Close to restaurants and night life. |

| We were extremely satisfied with everything about the Ambassador East Hotel. Checking in was easy, finding our room was no problem, our room was in excellent condition, the staff even gave us directions to some of the sites we wanted to see while we were in town. We were also very satisfied with the price for our room. All the staff was extremely polite and we plan to come back again in the future and again stay at the Ambassador East. |

| Enjoyed the hotel because my friends and I wanted to go to a Cubs game - short cab or "El" ride away from Wrigley Field - and then enjoy the Chicago Night Life afterwards. The Ambassador East was a great base of operations for us and I would recommend it. |

| We needed to check our bags in the luggage closet and it seemed like a bother to the staff. Not too much smiling or ethusiasm. |

| Great location just north of Michigan Avenue very near Rush Street, Hotel is clean but old. TVs are small and out of date. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping failed to bring towels 2 days out of 4.
Safe neighberhood with access to food, drug stores, etc. Friendly staff. Overall, good value and good location for an older hotel with smallish rooms. |

| It's obviously an older hotel but in the Gold Coast neighborhood near Oak Street beach. Passable restaurants on Rush Street are just a few blocks away, as are good breakfasts at the Corner Bakery.
Parking was a bit pricey, but a lot cater-cornered from the hotel advertised hotel parking at about two-thirds the cost. (We used the hotel parking, which was prompt and courteous.) The maid service was especially careful and missed nothing. When one of the maids noticed I was using the coffee machine, she set it up in a better location. |

| This hotel is a classic. The rooms are small but comfortable. The window A/C seems to be standard for this vintage hotel and is adequate to keep the temperature controlled but not the humidity. Staff was very friendy and helpful. Would not hesitate staying here again. |
