Recent Blake Review: "Conveniently located:
We arrived at Union Station with just a couple small bags. It was a nice day, so we walked to the hotel in about 10 minutes. We attended a couple soccer matches at Soldier Field and walked there in about 25-30 minutes. Millennium Park is about a 10 minute walk. We wanted to visit Lincoln Park Zoo. We inquired with reception, and were told we could catch the bus across the street from the hotel, and that we could buy bus passes at the CVS pharmacy located a block from the hotel. We bought the passes, caught the bus, and were at the zoo in no time at all. If we'd wanted to catch the train, it would have been easy, however, although the L was close, we didn't hear it inside the hotel. Starbucks is located across the street as is the main branch of the Chicago Public Library. There is a Panera within 2 blocks. Pot Belly Sandwiches is located a couple doors down where we grabbed some food on our way out of town. We had breakfast at a Mexican restaurant, La Cocina, located a couple blocks away on S. Clark. It was nothing fancy, but was very good and for $15 we were both satisfied with the meal. Buddy Guy's blues club, Legends, is just a few blocks away on S. Wabash, where we enjoyed a great lunch featuring jambalaya, gumbo, and cornbread. It's a wonderful place to listen to live music in the evening, having visited the club several years ago, we didn't realize we were staying so close until we stumbled upon it by accident.
Helpful, Efficient Staff:
Besides helping us with the bus, we were checked in and assigned a room in less than 2 minutesa€“no kidding. the doorman were always inquiring if we needed anything cabs, directions, etc.
Room:
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We booked a King Classic and it was perfect for 2 people. It had a very comfortable arm chair and ottoman, a nice flat panel TV and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. No, there wasn't a chest of drawers for clothes, but there was a closet with severa"

| This hotel was a great find. It was very close to the attractions and family we were visiting. The rooms were very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The bed and chairs were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was just that - coffee and donut or muffin. I would definitely stay here again. |

| On a recent visit to Chicago we took the chance on the Hotel Blake. We have previously stayed at the HIlton Chicago and hotels on Michigan Avenue. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the Hotel Blake. The staff was very helpful and our room was fantastic....the bathroom was huge with a great shower, and the high ceilings gave the room a spacious feel. We were still able to walk everywhere and didn't feel too far off the beaten path. |

| This hotel is beautifully remodeled and only a couple of blocks from Buddy Guy's Legends and the Jazz (oops, forgot the name.....just walk south 2 blocks to the old station, go left and right at the next corner and you're there) club.
My room had TWO comfy easy chairs, with footrest.
The restaurant and chef were written up in the latest issue of "Chicago" as being innovative and "hot".
Close to the el and subway. A little far from the north loop nightlife, but the 2 music venues make up for that.
Very helpful staff also. |

| Great doorman (Showtime) knows the city well. All staff are friendly and helpful. Easy to catch a cab or walk the few blocks to the red line. Great location close to shopping, Grant Park, Art Museum. Affordable restaurants within walking distance, as well as higher end choices nearby. Nice bathroom with lots of space and lovely shower. Room was huge and comfortably furnished. Bed was very comfy. |

| We recently spent four nights here and had a great experience. There were some things that could be improved but it's obviously not the Ritz. For what we paid, we were very happy.
Pros: Convenient to a number of CTA bus and train lines, including lines to both O'Hare and Midway. Comfortable beds, VERY helpful staff, onsite restaurant, bar with half price wine bottles Mon-Thurs, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, CVS, 7-11 and ATMS are all within a block or two, great pizza place right across the street
Cons: Not all rooms have a view, no fridge, no bureau. The contiential breakfast was pretty pitiful. The business center only has one computer so it was kind of hard to find a good time to use it.
Also, our sheets were stained with what looked like grease when we first arrived, but the housekeeping staff quickly and professionally took care of the problem.
We would definitely recommend for anyone who is new to Chicago and wants to stay in a convenient downtown Loop location without paying a ton of money. It's located basically halfway between the north and south tourist locations. We had a great time!! |

| My husband and I recently stayed at the hotel. We liked that it was in an old building and quaint. The concierge greeted us outside and our car valet parked. He asked about stay and was great about recommending a restaurant for a quick bite before our concert. The desk clerk was quick and efficient. Our room was small but decorated nicely and the bed was VERY comfortable!! The hotel was very quiet and we weren't disturbed by other guests. The shower had a sunflower shower head and was wonderful! I want one at home now. I would recommend this hotel for people who want comfort, quiet and nice friendly staff. |

| The Hotel Blake was conveniently located in the Loop, walking distance to most downtown Chicago attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being located in a "neighborhood" downtown was a delight. Our concierge sent us to one of the best Italian restaurants we've experienced.
While the room was on the small side, we had all the conveniences we needed, and it was well maintained. We plan to go back and would recommend the Hotel Blake to anyone wanting to stay in downtown Chicago at a reasonable price. |

| When I can find a deal on Hotel Blake, we will choose this hotel! The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean. Some of the rooms are smaller than others - so ask if you have special needs. We live outside of Chicago and will choose this location for a 1-night stay...plus our dog can stay too. |
