Recent Chicago Ascend Collection Review: "We wanted to be not too far off Michigan Ave. within easy walking distance to Rush/Division streets. This was the perfect location. Check-in was a breeze. We were dying for a Chicago hot dog, the clerk recommened his favorite stand right down the street. The room was very comfortable,although a little small, with a king bed, and a chair and ottoman. We were passing through on our way to Michigan, and were only staying two nights, so the room's size wasn't a big deal. If we had been staying longer, it might have been a problem. I agree with the other reviews regarding the bathroom---very, very, small, but with nice amenities. On one side of the lobby is a coffee shop, that has the best gelato. On the other side is a bar where we stopped and had a drink one night. The el is close by, took it over to Wrigley Field. Fantastic shopping is only a half a block away. Try Garrett's popcorn on Michigan. The only negative I can say is that it was a little noisy in the early mornings. The maids were vacuuming between 7:30 and 8:30, and even earlier than that, we heard dumpsters being emptied. You will have to either pay for valet parking ($41 a day with no in/out privileges) or just down the street and around the corner in the self-parking lot ($5 cheaper, with in/out privileges). We chose the valet, because who wants to drive in all that traffic anyway, with such good public transportation. When we checked out, again, it took less than five minutes, and when we stepped outside, the car was just pulling up. All-in-all, we thought the room was a great deal, the location was perfect, and we would recommend the hotel to anyone. We will definitely come back and stay again. (One other thing, for anyone driving in, West Ohio street changes to East Ohio. We didn't realize it until after we turned around, and then noticed a street sign)."
