Recent Chicago South Loop Review: "The hotel was welcoming, well-kept in decor and style; the room was very large and comfortable (enough room for tai chi practice!), with a small refrigerator and air conditioning set comfortably and a flat screen TV with basic cable as standard service.The staff were friendly and helpful, taking time to orient me as to bus schedules and making sure  my stay was comfortable. Maid service was meticulously performed and the personal care products left for the customer's use were high-quality organic items. There were two restaurants available on site for evening dining, but I used the in-room menus for two local restaurants--Chinese and Italian--that delivered to the hotel for a small fee Although generally within "walking distance" to McCormick Place, I was there during a heat wave and found I preferred a 3-minute cab ride to a 20 minute walk through a somewhat run-down neighborhood. (The security guard at McCormick Place did assure me that the walk was safe, however.) The hotel sits on the edge of Chinatown but I was unable to take the time to investigate. It didn't appear to be close to the main market area, but I'm not sure where that was anyway. There didn't appear to be much else around, except Mercy Hospital, the convention center, and the shores of Lake Michigan. The hotel is certainly a good value for attending a convention or needing to be near the hospital. I would stay there again."
