Recent Crowne Plaza Avenue Review: "I stayed at this hotel during the NHL Winter Classic. The location was perfect for me because it was right next to the Magnificent Mile (which came in handy when I found out that I needed a New Year's Eve outfit at the last minute), and just a few short blocks away from the NHL headquarters for Chicago.
The room was very spacious and the shower was very relaxing. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and filled with down pillows and a down comforter.
The maid service was wonderful. She came in and refilled everything, laid out my personal belongings for me (like most top hotels do), and was very helpful when I needed to ask for directions.
The train is an 8 minute walk from the hotel, so you can basically take the train from O'Hare to the hotel vicinity.
The business center is free (which was a huge plus in my book).
The restaurant in the hotel is ok. The waitstaff was very nice and courteous, but the food...it's British...so you can't expect much from it (i.e. if you like spice and food with flavor, British food doesn't cut it)."

| The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the Affinia around the corner. From the moment you walk through the revolving door, you can tell you are walking into an old building that was unsuccessfully refurbished. The lobby is unattractive and the elevators are downright shoddy. The room was comfortable, but very small. I had misplaced my key and needed a new one late in the evening and it took the front desk clerk 40 minutes to make me one. We paid $22 each for a cold roomservice breakfast the next day. This is the only hotel in the city with a rooftop pool (which we never used), but when we went upstairs to check it out and have a drink, we found the Sky Lounge was closed at 5:30 on a Friday night (????) I will not stay here again. |

| The location was perfect. Walking distance to shopping & dining. A quick cab ride to museums, Navy Pier, aquarium and many other Chicago attractions. Traveling from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we drove to Milwaukee and took the Amtrack into Union Station (one block from Willis Tower, formerly Sears tower) then a quick cab ride over the river to the hotel. Great City!!! |

| We spent one night there last weekend. Nice size room, very comfortable bed, looked clean. Some noise from the surroundings but not bad at all for Chicago downtown. Extremely well situated, with a convenient public parking close by (entrance from W. Superior St.) and a Corner Bakery literally on the next corner. Too bad they have staff with attitude! Not cordial, not happy to have you there. Like being inside a plane nowadays, if you know what we mean :)
Unpleasant experience at check-in and at check-out with different people. And only one person to take care of check-out in the morning.
Good hotel but we'll avoid it next time if we can. The Affinia, right behind, delivered a much nicer experience on a previous trip. |

| Overall, we felt the stay was adequate. The comfort of the bed was just about the best we've ever stayed in....excellent nights sleep. Excellent price for the accomodations. We felt the room itself overall was nice but could've used some furnishing upgrades. The toilet gave the appearance of a public bathroom and there is no fan or exhaust. The Concierge as well as the Bellhops seemed to give completely inaccurate directions to venues and locations. We walked for what seemed like miles to certain locations, then had to ask numerous people for alternate directions so do some research before you arrive. |

| What a great place to stay! The accommodations were luxurious and the hotel is one block off famous Michigan Avenue. I could see Saks Fifth Avenue and Tiffany's from my window. There is a very nice view of the city from the pool area on the 20th floor. |

| We got a free upgarde to a suite, which was great. Vallet parking was convient but not cheap($50), which is expected downtown. Only 1 out of the 2 A/C vents was actually working. So, the bedroom was a little warm. The Sky Lounge was a great start to the day and had an excellent view of Lake Michigan. |

| The hotel does show it's age but it is clean, the staff was friendly and the room was spacious. The roof top pool was good except for the spiders. Parking was the most expensive we have encountered and we will not be using the hotel garage if we stay there again. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were the best we have had in a long time. |

| My sisters and I met in Chicago for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Great location, pool and fitness room. The concierge (Vern) was very helpful with directions, recommendations and reservations. We will definitely stay there again! |

| Located right off of the Magnificent Mile. Close to everything. Walking distance to Navy Pier. Very close to a red line L station which means you're just a ride away from all the other sights to see. |
