Recent Hampton Majestic Theatre District Review: "We always love coming to Chicago and we know the town very well. Each time we pick a new hotel but I think we've found our favorite. The Majestic is perfectly located for seeing the sites, taking in a show or visiting the museums and shops. The staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. O.C. the doorman is amazing, he did everything but  tie my scarf for me. You feel very pampered by the staff, they truly want you to enjoy your stay. Museums are within walking distance as is shopping. If you're feeling lazy take the "L", it's cheap., Check out the Chicago CTA website for pricing and bring exact change or buy a 3 day pass at Walgreesn. There are multiple CTA stops near the hotel, you can get to O'Hare or Midway within 30 minutes. The buses are very simple as well, we took the #10 bus to the Museum of Science and Industry and it only took 25 minutes, if that. Approximately $2.25 each way, jump on the bus on State Street in front of the old Marshall Field's building...just make sure you're on the proper side of the street. Buses on the Marshall Field side are going North to Mag Mile primarily and buses picking up on the other side of the street are going south. We never rent a car in Chicago unless we're going to the suburbs. The train and bus system are super simple and cheap. Grab a map and just go! If you're hungry when you arrive I suggest Millers Pub on Wabash and if you're still hungry that evening I suggest The Gage on Michigan for dinner. Both are within 5 minutes walk from the Majestic and offer great meals. We'll be using the Majestic from now on for our Chicago visits! Loved it."
