Recent Hilton Garden Downtown Magnificent Review: "This is review is long overdue. I book Hilton Garden Inn for my 1st US travel last year (29dec-1jan). Unfortunately my connection flight from MSP to Chicago was delayed due to weather, and I was not able to contact/inform the hotel. Instead of 29Dec, I arrived on 30Dec afternoon. Upon arrival, i informed the front desk that I have reservation through  hotel.com and pass her my reservation booking that i print out. To my horror, I was informed that the booking has been automatically cancelled as I was not there by 29Dec midnight (they have rule that booking will auto cancel if guest never arrived by 1st day midnight)...THis rule is difficult for me to accept as I have already paid for the whole period of stay - upfront, hence it is only fair that the room that has been paid be reserved for me throughout the booking period.. Front desk is very helpful and offer me the phone so that i can check on the above rule with hotel.com The staff from hotel.com did try to help but apparantly not able to talk to the mangager which means I need to settle myself. I request to talk to the manager. She was very calm and professional, and after checking -find that its already charged upfront, agree to take me. I am very grateful and appreciate this, as after so much trouble of the flight delay-not a nice experience for 1st US trip, and the earlier bad news of booking cancellation, this is a very refreshing news and good start to my holiday mood. The room is nice and clean, big LCD TV, ample room, enough utilities (heater, coffe maker) Location very strategic, good dining nearby, near shopping mall and supermarket nearby. overall i have a very pleasant stay at this hotel ."
