Recent Hyatt Regency Ohare Review: "The Hyatt Regency O'Hare was half the cost of the O'Hare Hilton, very easy to get to (they shuttle back and forth every 15 minutes), the front desk staff and everyone I met were incredibly pleasant, the room was perfect and very comfortable, and made my whole trip easy and no hassle. For the business traveler, a perfect choice and much less expensive than any of the neighboring hotels. Another review complained about restaurant and in hotel shops like coffee shop. The restaurant was great and had a range of items at a range of prices. The coffee shop on the first floor was perfect and service there was good too."

| The basic double-twin room is average for hotels in this price range. The interior of the hotel is nice and expansive, and conjures up images of the larger Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. Glass elevators sweep you to your room giving you full view of the lobby below.
With that expansiveness comes noise. During our stay, there was a comic book convention in town, which led to late nights of loud twenty-somethings oblivious to their surroundings. The noise just bounced around the interior.
There are more quiet rooms in the four towers connected to the main building at each corner. (From the outside it reminded us of a prison with guard towers.)
The room was average, with mini fridge stocked with overpriced impulse items. For added comic relief, there was a large sticker on the door saying "This is not a refrigerator."
The climate control wasn't impressive, with widely varying temperatures when set to 70 degrees. I suspect there was some "hidden" energy saving system at work.
Housekeeping did a good job keeping the room clean but inexplicably left the extra pillows and bolster for each bed on the floor every day.
Special requests to housekeeping and shipping/receiving took several phone calls and were always met with "they're on their way" but didn't appear so.
The TV service was typical for a hotel. Nice flat-screen HDTV, but horrible "On Command" Hotel System that worked intermittently, and never gave you HD channels, or allowed you to change the aspect ratio, so everything on screen look wider than it really was. The "On Command" system was fuzzy, and the hotel features (like viewing your bill) gave me bizarre charges that bore no semblance to reality.
That said, the bellmen were responsive and super helpful, the shuttle to and from the airport ran every fifteen minutes, and the hotel featured a Starbucks branded store (but not really a Starbucks) and a FedEx office. | The best aspect of this hotel was its convenience to the convention center and trade show meetings. Inside, the aging concrete is a little jarring in juxtaposition with the lovely, slightly Asian-inspired decor, but the room was nice and very comfortable (although it was somewhat difficult to get the tower room exactly the right temperature, and the room could have used a little more soundproofing). The food was good, but prices ($5.00 for a baked potato) a bit ridiculous, and the staff let the tray sit outside my room all night, even though I called to let them know it was outside the door. The staff was very friendly overall, though. |

| I love this hotel I chose it because of it's location to the "Blueline"....when i entered the lobby my reaction was "WOW"!! The front desk staff was very friendly.the room was cozy ...the restaurant was good thought pricy . i'd stay here again |

| The location of the Hyatt was rather far away from anything except O'Hare. We had to walk a few blocks to the train or pay a cab to get to anywhere to eat. Not much within walking distance.
The staff at the hotel was VERY helpful and polite, while the restaraunt staff left MUCH to be desired.
Overall, I would stay there again, but would find other arrangements for meals. |

| The Hyatt was a beautiful clean hotel. When we woke up and tried to take a shower the shower did not work and the sink in the bathroom was somewhat stopped up. Since we were getting a flight out it was too late to do anything about it. We will probably not stay there again. |

| Very expensive (breakfast, parking, internet, etc.).
Every service paid.
Promotion (business plan) not honored unless asked / begged for.
Poor business service (printer / fax / copier) - it took 20 minutes one morning to print one sheet of paper, and two sheets of paper were printed just for receipts.
Key cards did not work twice.
It is worth staying in a 2-star Holiday Inn Express or similar and driving to the location, plus paying for parking, rather than staying in this hotel. |

| Overall the hotel was nice. I just don't understand why for the price that you pay, everything is extra. Parking is extra, intranet is extra. A lot of the cheaper hotels include these in teh cost of your room. Overall tho the staff was very nice and the hotel is nice. |

| I had read past comments about the Hotel standards and was somewaht skeptical about booking at the location given the cost and value. However, I did book and was pleasantly surprised that the entire hotel has undergone major upgrading and it showed very well. The Staff presented themselves professionally and helpful in all aspects.
My room had been completely renewed and had all of the creature comforts one would expect from the brand. I would strongly recommend the Hyatt Regency O'Hare for business, pleasure or whatever when coming to the Chicago area. |
