Recent Sax Thompson Review: "Our stay at the Hotel Sax was incredibly enjoyable. After pricing a few other hotels on the Mag Mile, Hotel Sax had excellent weekend rates that blew the others away. The location was accessible to the sites and theaters we intended to visit and we loved the Crimson Lounge before heading out to the bars. Drinks are expensive, but the decor and ambiance made up for it. As the previous poster said, this hotel does attract a younger crowd, so if you are bothered by lounge goers and super-power toilets flushing in the middle of the night this hotel is not for you.
The interiors of the rooms are beautifully designed and mimics todays latest modern design magazines. Everything is clean and well taken care of. My favorite was the acoustic clock / radio, it had great sound and you could even hear it in the bathroom. Now I need to go and buy one for myself! We had a slight problem with the plasma tv (we pressed a button that makes the tv lose signal) but after a call the the front desk, they sent a tech up to reset it, and he even called 5 min later to ensure that everything was working properly. Now THAT is awesome customer service!
Everyone we encountered from the front desk, concierge and room service were friendly, warm, and went the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Now that is hard to find at the larger hotels.
The only part of our stay that I was disappointed with was the room service we ordered at 4am. We ordered a chicken club sandwich and french fries. You would think $13 would get you a rockstar sandwich and average fries. Oh no...the fries were cold and limp. But seriously, that's the only thing that they could have improved.
I'm definitely keeping the Hotel Sax in mind when my girlfriends come to visit. Did I mention that there are a TON of full length mirrors in the roomsr Perfect for a group of girls to get ready in front of (no fighting to put your makeup on)."

| Hotel seems snazy for the price, medium to high end furnishings. Rooms are a good size well fitted bathrooms. The decor is very modern with a touch of old world. Did have some mildew around the bathtun and ceiling above shower was pocked open and discolored, prob from moisture damage. Not thw worst condition but not the best, if your paying on the higher scale for rooms customers should not experience mold or mildew in the bathrooms. That was the only item, there for only 1 night otherwise great views, pleasant appointments. 1 more thing, upon check in swipped our charge card said it was for incidentals and had us sign a form that did not mention anything about temp holds being placed on that charge card. I called the back the evening after the stay to question the charge on my account and the front desk attendant had gotten a little snooty on the phone saying that everyone is told about the "hold/charge" at check in. I had to remind him that if this was explained upon check in then I wouldn't be spending my time on the phone with him and I politely asked that they remind staff to inform their patrons of these holds/temp charges. |

| The hotel room was ready at noon when we arrived and we didnt have to wait until 3pm. Which isnt required to make a good stay but a nice suprise. The gentleman who took our keys was very helpful and friendly. The people at the desk were friendly. Our hotel room was clean, and neat. No complaints at all and the bed was comfortable. The decor was different and unique and fun. We saw a show at the HOB and it was awesome because we didnt have far to go incase of rain. The location felt extremely safe during the day and still safe at night. For as large of a city as Chicago. Everything was as it should have been. :) Would def. stay there again and would love to stay longer than a night. |

| If you are like me and enjoy being out in a new city then you would enjoy booking at Sax. It is very close to fancy clubs, delicious pizzerias, stunning buildings and close to the Magnificent Mile. I literally walked everywhere; never moved my car. However, if your plan is to stay in your room then this might not be the place for you. We paid for a superior king and although the bed was amazingly comfortable the room was smaller than any hotel room in a Super 8 and the bathroom tiles on top of the bathtub had mildew. Also, there is no wifi and you have to pay for local calls. |

| The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was great. We had a great time in Chicago and staying at the Sax was part of our great time. We would definately stay at the Sax again. |

| What I enjoyed about the hotel was that it is central to many of the "downtown" activities, and minutes from the train.
Wished the room had coffee service. |

| Better than expected. Book a King room and receive free upgrade to a 1 bedroom-Sweeet!! And they have great wine and grey goose (half bottle) in mini bar. Great value for what you get. |

| Solid option w/great location. Was on a business trip, but I would spend my own money here. Nothing fancy, but clean, new and zipcars about 50 feet from the lobby. |

| Wish I could have stayed longer. Staff was extremely friendly, and the room was awesome. Cool decor, comfortable bed. The only drawback was the bathtub. Like all hotels I've stayed at of late, they need to do a better job killing the mildew or replacing the caulk. |

| You can't beat the convenience of this hotel to jazz clubs, restaurants and Bin 36. Wine and cheese is only an elevator ride away. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and clean. The staff of Hotel Sax is always professional and courteous. We have stayed in this hotel several times. We have tried other hotels in the area, but always come back to Hotel Sax. |

| we had a great time. everything was":top-notche".
everyone was helpful. from the valets in front to check-in. We had a great time!! the only problem we encountered has the lounge-bar area was closed on Monday night. It would be nice if they posted the hours of operation. we did get a chance to "tour"this area. The 1920/old hollywood style was very, very CooL!!!!! We will definelty be back!! |
