Recent Seneca Hotel Review: "One of the best aspects of our weekend to Chicago was staying at the Seneca. My partner and I arrived to check-in to find out we were offered an upgrade to one of the hotel's suites.
The room was very comfortable and roomy, even though we found some hair on the floor of the bathroom and in the shower. I know that is a big deal for some, being that I have worked in the hospitality industry and have known hotel managers to comp a room for less, and was surprised to see hairs in the bathroom of such a luxurious four-star setting. I didn't make an issue of it, but did expect better. Also, the appliances of the kitchenette were dated, which was another shock to me. Some of the furniture of the room was really banged up. For example, the chester drawers were missing a handle and chipped, and the coffee table in the living area was scatched and chipped. I just assumed that the title" suite" denotes the best and newest in contemporary furniture, appliances, and design and was a little let down. Even though the refrigerator in the room had an ice machine it didn't work. We stayed on the 16th floor and came to find out that the nearnest ice machine was nearly ten floors below, another thing I didn't expect.
With all of that said, there were no major issues. The suite had a nice view of the John Hancock building, as the hotel is located in one of the "ritzier" areas of downtown. That aspect made our stay feel espcially magical, and we were a stones throw from all of the attractions. Our favorite part of the stay was the large comfortable bed. We found it hard to get up in the morning and get going because we were enveloped in such a comfy warm bed, and it was nice. The room also came with a complimentary breakfast, which was simple and very satisfying. The breakfast and service by the staff was great and fulfilling, which helped us get on with our day. The breakfast was a great finale to an overall exceptional stay.
The Seneca Hotel in Chicago helped make us feels comfortab"

With potted plants, chaise lounges, and tables and chairs, it's a comfortable spot for socializing and enjoying city views. Bicycles, skates, and pedal-powered buggies for groups are available for rent at several beachfront locations. During summer, Oak Street Beach, four blocks from the hotel, is popular for sunbathing and swimming when lifeguards are on duty. Also in summer, beach volleyball courts are available for rent or pickup games. The Lincoln Park Boathouse, two miles away, offers canoe, kayak, and rowing equipment rentals. A public golf course is open, weather permitting, about 4.5 miles north. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.
