Recent Travelodge Hotel Downtown Review: "I expected the hotel to be nice but some people gave it poor reviews so I was a little uncertain. I was actually pretty thrilled with my stay. The best part is the location (walking distance to the art museum and millenium park, etc.) and the friendly service. The bellboys (is there a more PC term for that nowadaysr they were all full grown men) were particularly friendly and helpful. We made several special requests - for a crib, an iron, etc. - and the response was quick (the wake up call, though, didn't work). The room was small but comfortable - the bed was very comfortable, but the sheets aren't high-end sheets. Our room had a window facing the El, which we actually liked - our daughter enjoyed watching the train go by. The only complaint I might have, apart from the wake up call not working, was that there is no clock or clock radio in the room. Maybe because a lot of young guys going to sporting events stay there and can't be trusted, I don't know. All in all, though, I was very pleased with my stay for the price - I would definitely stay there again with my family."
