Recent Whitehall Hotel Review: "Hotel isn't one of the most modern hotels, but it was definitely worth the price to be located just off of North Michigan Avenue across from The Cheesecake Factory, American Girl, Hersey, and much more shopping. Great price for a fantastic location! Pros: Room was clean and bright. Furniture is a bit rough around the edges, but everything still clean  and comfortable. Bathroom had large vanity area and large shower, but the shower head is a bit low for those above 5'6". Hallways were relatively quiet at night. Very luxurious sheets and comforters and five pillows on the bed! Hotel employees were very courteous and helpful. Despite numerous warnings about faulty elevators, both were in fine working order during my trip. Never waited more than 2 minutes for an elevator. Free USA Today outside the door the morning. Cons: Would have liked to have had free wireless internet, but it requires an additional fee. (Free Wi-fi is available right around the corner at the Starbucks) Would have enjoyed a more modern television with an HD picture and a few additional tv channels. Would have enjoyed being able to see the TV clearly from both sides of the bed. Would have appreciated having a few more amenities included in price (continental breakfast would have been nice), but generally, a very comfortable two-night stay. Overall, it was a good hotel for a great price. I would definitely stay there again, should I need another convenient hotel on the North end of Michigan Avenue."

    Originally built in 1927 as an apartment building, this hotel maintains its Victorian ambience with intimate quarters showcasing antique mahogany furnishings, oil paintings and wood paneling with glass-enclosed memorabilia. Mei's Corner uses only the freshest and finest ingredients in order to deliver authentic Mandarin, Szechuan and Taiwanese delicacies that are all made to order. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee in public areas. A total of 3,000 square feet of function space accommodates up to 100 people. The business center offers two computer stations and a laptop station for a fee. A 24-hour, complimentary fitness room contains free weights, and cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. This is a smoke-free property.
